Mission Statement:
Membership: 9000 members worldwide. Members include researchers, administrators, practitioners, educators, planners, consultants, technicians, legislators, farmers and ranchers, local conservation officials and students. · These individuals represent nearly every academic discipline and institution concerned with the management of land and water resources.· Membership benefits include: publications such as the Journal of Soil and Water Conservation; representation in policy circles; and discounts on books, conferences and workshop registration.· SWCS members have been making the difference by supporting soil and water conservation for more than 50 years.SWCS Chapters: Chapters, like the Hoosier Chapter, throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean carry out activities at the local, state, and provincial levels and on university campuses. The 75 chapters represent the grassroots backbone of SWCS. Each chapter elects its own officers, creates committees, sponsors conferences, workshops, and numerous other conservation activities and formulates recommendations on local land and water resource issues.
